Students who study at student places beyond state-commissioned
education have to reimburse their study costs under the conditions and
pursuant to the procedures established by the council of the
university. The council of the university establishes the rate for the
reimbursement of study costs for each academic year but the rate should
not be increased more than 10 per cent from one academic year to the
next. Also studying in Open University is payable.
In
case of an institution of professional higher education, the rate for
the reimbursement of study costs by students who study at a student
place beyond state-commissioned education shall comprise at least 75
per cent of the calculated cost of a student place following the same
curriculum formed on the basis of state-commissioned education.
The amount of tuition fees is differentiated for different fields of study and specialisations.
Registration
fees or any other service fees related to commencement or finalisation
of studies are not applicable to students occupying state-commissioned
student places. All students receive a student card free of charge, but
may, if they so wish, acquire payable ISIC student card offering
various benefits through the Federation of Estonian Student Unions.
