07 - Greece - Registration and/or tuition fees
Pursuant to the Constitution of Greece, higher education is public and is provided solely by the State
free of charge. Therefore, admission and registration to all the institutions of higher education
(universities and technological education institutes) as well as the attendance of the respective studies
are provided to students free of charge.
Following the proposal of the Special General Assembly of the Department and upon decision of the
University’s Senate, fees may be fixed for postgraduate students of a specific Postgraduate Study
Programme.
Students in the Hellenic Open University are paying tuition fees.
Students of the International Hellenic University will make a financial contribution in order to cover the
operating expenses of Undergraduate and Postgraduate study programmes. The level of this
contribution will be fixed following joint decision of the Ministers of Economy and National Education &
Religious Affairs, upon opinion of the Senate.
